According to industry sales data, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire emerged as India’s most sold car in 2025, with over 214,000 units dispatched to dealers and customers during the year.

Overall, Maruti Suzuki’s broad lineup including popular models like the Dzire, Baleno, Fronx, Swift, Brezza, and WagonR helped the company retain its leadership in the Indian market, even as SUVs continued to grow in popularity among buyers.

The market also saw strong performances from other OEMs Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra recorded robust sales during the year, with SUVs such as the Tata Nexon leading monthly charts at times, while Hyundai remained in the competitive mix.

In the calendar year 2025, Maruti Suzuki once again solidified its leadership in the Indian automobile market, with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire emerging as the best-selling car of the year. According to industry sales data, the Dzire topped the overall passenger vehicle charts with over 2.14 lakh units sold, surpassing major rivals in a year when SUV demand remained strong. The compact sedan’s appeal continued to draw buyers due to its fuel efficiency, value proposition, and strong dealer network distribution.

Maruti Suzuki’s overall performance contributed significantly to its domination of the 2025 sales landscape, as the company continued to outpace competitors with robust volumes across its model lineup including Baleno, Swift, Wagon R, and Ertiga helping maintain its position as India’s top carmaker.
