BMW F 450 GS New Entry-Level Adventure Bike Set to Redefine the GS Line-Up

BMW F 450 GS Powerful twin-cylinder engine, lightweight design and advanced features bikes of 2026

The BMW F 450 GS is shaping up to be one of the most exciting adventure motorcycles expected to arrive in the market soon. Positioned as the new entry-level model in BMW Motorrad’s iconic GS family, the bike aims to offer a perfect balance of performance, off-road capability and premium technology for riders who want to step into the adventure touring segment. The model was first showcased as a concept and later revealed in production form at the EICMA 2025, generating strong interest among global motorcycle enthusiasts.

Performance

One of the biggest highlights of the BMW F 450 GS is its newly developed twin-cylinder engine. The motorcycle is powered by a 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque, delivering strong performance for both highway touring and off-road riding. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and includes advanced features such as a bidirectional quickshifter and a slipper clutch, making gear shifts smoother and improving overall riding comfort.

Interestingly, the engine platform has been jointly developed by BMW and TVS Motor Company, highlighting the growing collaboration between the two brands. Production of the bike is expected to take place at the TVS facility in Hosur, India, which will also serve as the global manufacturing hub for the model. This strategy allows BMW to keep the price competitive while maintaining its premium engineering standards.

Features

In terms of design, the F 450 GS carries the unmistakable styling of the larger GS models. The bike features an aggressive front fascia inspired by the BMW R 1300 GS, including distinctive LED daytime running lights and a tall adventure-style stance. The motorcycle also gets a 6.5-inch TFT display, offering smartphone connectivity, navigation and ride information, bringing modern technology to the entry-level adventure segment.

The motorcycle has also been designed with serious off-road capabilities in mind. It features fully adjustable upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock suspension, allowing riders to tackle rough terrain with confidence. The bike is equipped with a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel setup, which is a common configuration for adventure motorcycles designed for both road and off-road use.

Another key aspect of the BMW F 450 GS is its lightweight construction. The bike is expected to weigh around 175–178 kg, making it easier to handle compared to many larger adventure motorcycles. This lighter weight improves agility, especially during off-road riding or while navigating city traffic.

Safety

The F 450 GS will also come with several advanced safety and riding technologies. Features such as multiple riding modes, traction control, ABS Pro and the Easy Ride Clutch system enhance safety and comfort during long rides. BMW is expected to offer the motorcycle in multiple variants such as Basic, Exclusive, Sport and Trophy, allowing riders to choose a version that suits their riding style and budget.

Price in India BMW F 450 GS

In terms of launch timeline, the BMW F 450 GS is expected to debut in India in 2026, with an estimated price range of around Rs 4 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing would make it a strong competitor to other middleweight adventure bikes in the segment.
